MIL-COFFEE | A new Military inspired Coffee Brand

I´m quiet open to you guys: I´m a caffeinated as f*!ck kinda guy and I actually think that the amount of coffee I drank during my life is enough that it already replaced the blood and water in my body! “No regrets”. Regarding this addiction, I had a wide-open ear when the guys from Militaryshop.lv called me up about their new coffee brand called “MIL-COFFEE” and if I want to give it a try.

There was no need to ask me twice! Just send me that fresh “juice of the gods” as coffee is known to us caffeinated people.

Military inspired coffee brands have grown the past years a lot. Some do a very decent job and offer good quality coffee and others, well they just stepped one the train. So how about MIL-COFFEE?

ABOUT MIL-COFFEE

As mentioned above, it´s a brand from the guys at Militaryshop.lv that they´ve brought to life as they are coffee-lovers as I am. MIL-COFFEE is roasted at the Rocket Bean Roastery straight in Latvia/Riga from coffee beans which are seasonal selected of a coffee variety from two of the biggest coffee growing regions in the world straight in Brazil and Columbia at an altitude between 1000-1600 meters.

This roastery is the fastest-growing leading coffee roastery in the Baltic States as we speak. They believe that coffee has to be handcrafted and freshly roasted with passion and attention paid to the finest detail.

Every coffee bag landing in Roastery is fully traceable – they believe that direct trade is the best trade. Great mindset.

They say:

Only exquisite coffee beans can bring that quality taste experience we believe everyone deserves. We travel to meet the farmers and choose the best coffee we can get our hands on from Africa, Indonesia, Central America, and Latin America.

Being coffee lovers with more than 13 years experience in the industry, they want to share their knowledge, experience and passion with others. Therefore, they provide trainings, consultations and private label coffee development services as for example: MIL-COFFEE.

What is special about this coffee?

As former military operators, they know that the service is often demanding and coffee is something that helps you to keep your eyes open to not fall asleep. Therefore, they put some extra attention to it what means: it offers a much richer flavor that gathers the attention of your “sense of smell” and it is more intense to push you back into business.

To show their love and solidarity to the military community, 1% of the income from the coffee will be donated towards veterans of the Latvian military in cooperation with the foundation Namejs. I think that´s nice of them but tbh, about 5-7% for the veterans would be nicer. But that´s just me and my personal opinion about it.

THE TASTE

Every coffee cherry for this unique coffee blend is fully ripe when picked, letting only the best coffee beans reach your cup of coffee, resulting in a very good aroma, medium acidity and medium body that combine to present a pleasant, sweet taste.

Roasting method: slow roasted

You want to check the fresh aroma of the coffee, no problem. Just use the ventilation valve each pack comes with. If you need to securely transport or store your pack away, use the included zip-lock to close or open it as often you wish. It also supports to keep the coffee inside fresh.

After more than 750g I brew for myself, my wife our friends and colleagues from the coffee to check it out, I can clearly say: I/we like it! The taste is as described as well the aroma you get once you open the pack. It smells how a quality coffee should smell: fresh and intense. And how should it taste you ask? Here are the facts:

Taste notes: dark chocolate, cherries, walnut

Mouthfeel: creamy, round

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

To get the taste as described above, you need to follow the instructions regarding the different ways of preparation that belongs to you. For me personally, especially in the morning I often added one more spoon to the recipe because: I like it stronger. But hey, have it your way!
