REVIEW // HELIKON – INFANTRY FLEECE JACKET
I’ve been using and abusing the Helikon-Tex Infantry Duty Fleece Jacket at work (Private Security) and in my spare time for some weeks now. This Jacket was projected by Helikon-Tex mainly for Army personell with the objective of being a simple and functional jacket for everyday duty.
MATERIALS, COMPARTMENTS & FEATURES
The Infantry Duty Fleece Jacket is made out of Polyester with reinforced areas at th shoulders and elbows. Its equipped with a stand up collar, a full-front YKK zipper and with velcro in the upper arms part of the sleeves and chest for patches or ID tabs.
The adjustable wrist cuffs with velcro tabs are decorated with the Helikon-Tex logo. The Infantry Duty Fleece Jacket is available in Black, Black with the the reiforced portions in Polish Woodland Camo and Olive Green with the the reiforced portions in Polish Woodland Camo.
The overall quality is on point, as of now the jacket doesn’t show any wear and tear and i’ve been using it a lot and all the materials including the stitching are holding up very well.
The Helikon-Tex Infantry Duty Fleece Jacket has a chest pocket on the left side with a inner pouch for your smartphone or mp3 player and a wiring eyelet for your headphones cord. The left arm also has a pocket with the wiring eyelet.
Additionally you have two hand pockets in the abdominal area that are big enough where you can put your hands there even with gloves on.
Both the shoulders and the elbows are reinforced with Ripstop material. On the waist are you have elastic cord with quick-locks for individual fit.
COMFORT & FEELING
Although this jacket wasn’t made to sub-zero conditions. I have worn the jacket in December for a few days where it went almost zero degrees, only with a T-shirt and a light Sweatshirt. The jacket made and outstanding job keeping me warm by conserving my body natural heat.Inside while maintaining the cold out. Not only did it keep me warm during several cold days i also find it to be really comfortable to wear.
PERSONAL OPINION
The Helikon-Tex Infantry Duty Fleece Jacket, as i mention before, was made to be a simple and functional jacket. It seems to me that it does what it was made to do very well. With several insteresting features and at a price point of €49.99 it’s a great option if you’re looking for a quality made flecee type jacket but you don’t want to spend a lot of money on it.
