KHS ENFORCER – A MILESTONE?
Today we present the brand new KHS ENFORCER. According to KHS, this is an important milestone in the product history. It is intended to be the follow-up to the legendary previous model series TACTICAL SHADOW and COMMANDER TITAN. Let’s now take a closer look at what KHS has developed in the past 3 years.
THE BOX
The high-quality box of the KHS ENFORCER is nice, shock-proof and well cushioned, with a Rubber Patch carrying the KHS TACTICAL GEAR logo on top of it. Due to the Velcro, the patch is of course easily removable. A different patch – your own name tag for example – can easily be attached.
When opening the lid of the box with the smoothly running small zipper, we can see the new KSH ENFORCER well embedded inside. After having taken out the foam from inside of the lid, there are flyers with consumer information and how to download the instruction manual. KHS deliberately does without printed manuals to protect the environment. Thumbs up!
With this box, KHS has found a nice way to present this high-quality watch.
THE CASE
Let’s now come to the actual product, the tactical watch. Like for other models of KHS, the ENFORCER is available in different versions.
KHS ENFORCER STEEL
First, we’ll check out the KHS ENFORCER STEEL. As made out of extremely durable surgical steel, other materials cannot reach the quality of the surface of this watch. This surgical steel is used, as the name suggests, in the medical range for bone plates or clamps. Thus, it should be clear that this watch is even ready for the toughest missions. The KHS ENFORCER STEEL is available in the colors STEEL and BLACK.
KHS ENFORCER TITAN
Different to the STEEL version, the case of the KHS ENFORCER TITAN is made out of a light titanium alloy. When compared to surgical steel, titanium contains no nickel *. It also weighs less and has a slightly rougher surface, which provides a certain character to the watch. Despite its lighter weight, titanium is equally robust and ensures the necessary robustness in use. The KHS ENFORCER TITAN is available in the colors TITAN and BLACK. The model we tested is BLACK TITAN.
- The concentration of nickel in surgical steel is very low and the nickel is solidly bound in the steel. This type of steel is thus appropriate for people with a nickel allergy.
CASE LID
In addition to the well-knows KHS eagle, the star-shaped lid of the case, which is made out of the same material, provides information about the materials used and a small area which can be engraved e.g. with the name or the blood type of the owner. For customers buying directly from the KHS online shop, KHS offers free engraving.
BEZEL WITH H3 POINTER & CROWN
For the first time ever, there is a ceramic bezel on a KHS tactical watch. Normally, these are used only for extremely upscale luxury watches and feature excellent corrosion and scratching resistance.
The bezel can be adjusted very well thanks to the optimized design, stays in place and easily snaps into the desired position. It is easy to use even when wearing gloves.
The extra large H3-pointer with tritium on the bezel, which is also used for the first time, stands out strongly and ensures a very good readability and orientation at any time. Another positive aspect is the solid crown protection that protects the crown from shocks and prevents the back of the hand from damage. Setting the watch by pulling out the crown is no trouble.
THE GLASS
As for previous models, KHS also uses scratch-resistant sapphire glass with anti-reflective cutting for the ENFORCER. The watch is tested on water resistance up to 20 bar to DIN 8310 / ISO 2281, which corresponds to the pressure of an assumed water column of 200 meters on one square centimeter. So, this watch is highly recommended for frogmen.
MOVEMENT & DIAL
The quartz movement is produced and assembled in Switzerland and consist of 3 hands with H3-tritium inlays for hours, minutes and seconds as well as a date display. So, even at night the watch can be read permanently correct.
KHS has also improved the dial. With the help of the H3 illumination system colored in a “Red Ocean” color scheme (exclusively for the ENFORCER-series), there is no trouble in reading the dial in any situation.
As already mentioned, the KHS ENFORCER the logical development of the TACTICAL SHADOW and the COMMANDER TITAN, which were published under the label of MKII. This is why, as an homage to the previous series, there is a MKIII logo on the dial right next to the logos of H3 and KHS.
WATCH STRAPS TO CHOOSE
You can choose between 17 different watch straps for your ENFORCER. Depending on the watch strap chosen, the total weight of the ENFORCER is between 68 and 117 grams. So anyone can individually arrange his ENFORCER for a mission, or even for a festive setting.
RESULT
For the price of 499€ – 699€ (depending on the model), the new KHS ENFORCER features innovations like the new large H3-pointer, the scratch-resistant ceramic bezel and the very attractive, exclusive color scheme “Red Ocean”.
