The Premium CREE XM-L U2 LED can fire up to 860 lumens, depending on the selected mode. A Mineral glass with anti-reflective coating saves the LED from impacts.

Via the rapid rotary switch, multiple output modes can conveniently be accessed. The User-defined mode provides customized brightness levels plus strobe and SOS modes. To activate this mode, loose a bit the head and you get access to the five selectable sub-modes ( High > Medium > Low > SOS > Strobe) which are selectable by pressing the switch on the cap softly. If the head is tight you can only run the Turbo mode.

The intelligent memory function stores preferred brightness settings.

NOTE: If you turn off your flashlight with a selected user definied mode wait 3 seconds to turn it on back again. Otherwise, your configuration is deleted.

The HAIII military grade hard anodizing is a matt black and gives the aerospace-grade aluminum alloy housing a smooth plain surface. Its waterproof submersible to two meters (IPX-8 standard). The applied markings are sharp and clear. Complete disassembled you have three parts. The head, battery tube and the tailcap.

By screwing down the water, dust and impact resistant cover of the battery tube we have access to the micro-USB charging port. The intelligent charging circuit with voltage detection on the PC takes really long. We suggest using extra battery charger for the 18650 battery.

REVIEW NITECORE MH25 FLASHLIGHT 2

If you plug it into the USB port of your computer you have to put on the flashlight, so the charging begins if the red lamp lights up. This is a bit confusing if you don’t know about it.

The broad voltage circuit accepts both rechargeable and non-rechargeable Lithium batteries. In low mode, the battery can power the flashlight up to 28 hours.

REVIEW NITECORE MH25 FLASHLIGHT 7

At the tailcap we can see small holes to attach the wrist lanyard to the flashlight. The MH25 can tailstand but it’s very unstable because of the big head. You need a very flat surface if you want to do this.

REVIEW NITECORE MH25 FLASHLIGHT 4

The forward-click-switch at thetailcap is covered with a rubber, which is recessed within the tail to prevent the ingress of dust and moisture.

If you want to use the MH25 as a weapon flashlight you have to search for a mount with a Tail Diameter around 25.4mm which isn`t that easy to find.

CONCLUSION

For the competitive price of around 80€ you get a really good small tactical flashlight with a long runtime of the battery (which is included), an excellent illumination (including the borders). If you can accept the long charging cycle (or the cost of an extra charger) the MH25 will be a good companion for your EDC.
