Blaine, MN – Coonan Inc., known for their unique 1911 chambered in .357 Magnum, introduces a new class of 1911 chambered in .45 ACP.
The Coonan 1911 .357 Magnum Auto raised the standards for 1911’s. The new.45 ACP Pistol raises the standards again by applying all of the “Coonan Difference” proven technologies from their 1911 .357 Magnum Auto to their new .45 ACP. These “Coonan Difference” features, linkless barrel, pivoting trigger, and external extractor, are incorporated into every Coonan pistol. The linkless barrel is more reliable than linked barrels and offers increased accuracy while virtually eliminating feeding issues. The pivoting trigger’s unique location and motion allows the user more consistent trigger pulls for better accuracy and tighter groups.
Every trigger, hammer, sear, and disconnector are crafted at the Coonan facility in Minnesota to their exact specifications. Combined with the pivoting trigger, this firing mechanism configuration allows the shooter a more refined trigger pull and user experience. The final “Coonan Difference” feature is the external extractor, which is coil spring activated for increased reliability and robustness unlike internal extractors that use leaf springs that can flatten out over time. Recoil operation allows the use of both jacketed and non-jacked ammunition through the 4340 carbon steel hard chrome plate finished barrel.

This handgun ships standard with Novak style rear sights and blade front sights. Optional features include fixed night sights or an adjustable rear sights. This new handgun also incorporates an extended slide catch and thumb lock to simplify one-handed operation. The Coonan .45 ACP package includes a 7 round single-stack magazine, a carrying case and a lock for additional storage safety.
